RFS Challenge START

Weight: 251.6 lb

I am done done done with this up and down crap.  I have been on one diet or another for the last 6 months and I weigh exactly what I did when I started. When I got on the scale this weekend and saw that DESPITE staying within my points and exercising like crazy I had GAINED 3 pounds, I just stood on the scale and cried. Cried my eyes out.

Then I promptly open my cupboards and shoved FiberOne bars in my mouth.

After lunch with my hubby I did feel better....not sure exactly why.

I need to get focused and this challenge is starting at JUST the RIGHT time!!!

In the past I have mentioned the Great Weight Loss of 2007.  I lost 50 pounds in about 6 months. I did it by sticking to the Fat Smash Diet.  I didn't want to do it again because, well, it's hard. And restrictive.  And WeightWatchers is much easier.

But it's what I need right now.  The first phase is 9 days.  It's the Detox phase.  Even though there is no counting of any kind, it's mostly just fruits and veggies.  I found some great recipes and went grocery shopping. I was really proud that my cart was practically FULL by the time I was done with the PRODUCE section.

That's all just fruits and vegetables!

I am serious this time. I mean business. I have the eye of the Tiger.

I am FOCUSED. I plan on being 225 pounds by the end of this challenge on June 2nd.  Please no comments about how that's not possible. If it's not then at least let me try and fail.  In 10 weeks I want to lose 26.6 pounds.  That's about 2.7 pounds down each week. Crazy. I can do it though. I know I can.  Cheer me on!!!

  2. It's TOTALLY possible! Plus, you have a plan set, you know how to lose the weight and you've done it before... what's stopping you from doing it again.

I can't wait to see how you do. I'll be here through the entire challenge to support you!

  5. That is absolutely possible. I'm down 36 lbs in 12 weeks. I had a great weight loss around 2008. I lost around 75 lbs. Then I gained it all back. Yuck! So here I am again fighting my way back down. I'm praying this is the last time I have to do this.

    1. Glad to hear I'm not alone. Wow. 36 pounds in 12 weeks. I'm pretty sure there is a medal for that. It might be called the Purple Treadmill or something...

  10. The Biggest Losers participants - they lose gazillion pounds a week. I am totally pretending that I'm on a weight loss reality show for this challenge. Not sure what that says about me, but what I'm trying to say is that if you set your mind to it, you can absolutely do this!

You tried WW and if it's not working, then hell yeah, switch over to what worked in the past.
I've never heard of this diet, so hopefully you'll share more of your experience with it.

Your eye color is so pretty! And the pics, omg, the pics!

  11. 2.7 pounds a week? When you are starting at 251, that is totally achievable. It's not even unhealthy! On almost every diet I've ever been on, 1-2% of body weight per week was recommended - which for you works out to 2.5-5 pounds. See? Totally doable!!

I'm not familiar with the Fat Smash Diet, but any diet that increases your intake of fresh fruits & veggies will fill you up with fewer calories. The first week or so of any new diet is always the worst, you can do this!

  13. You can do this! Be ambitious and go for it! But promise to not be disappointed if you "only" see 2lb, or 1lb even. Those are good numbers too!

  14. It's not easy, but you can totally do it! You've got support all around you :)

  15. Yay! I am glad you are doing that again! Even though it is more restrictive, I think it forces you to be even MORE prepared and strict than you already are, and that is part of the reason of why it works. Yippee, see ya L8R!
